Just two more weeks and then the moment has come that Disney’s movie The Jungle Book screens in Malaysian cinemas. To be even more specific, on the 7th of April is the premiere from this adventurous movie. With the same directors as ‘Iron Man’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’, it’s promising to become a spectacular piece of work.
For me personally, the movie has youth sentiment since it was one of the popular animated movies that we used to watch on videotape when I was a young boy. Therefore, I am super excited that they made a remake of this Disney movie, which is all about adventure, survival, danger and friendship. What more could you ask for?
For the people who don’t know what The Jungle Book is all about, check out the movie trailer here to get an idea:
The Jungle Book is basically a story about a young boy called Mowgli that grew up in the Jungle. Raised by a family of wolves since birth, the orphan boy has never met his parents, neither had any contact with other humans in his life. He considers the jungle as his home where he has multiple wild animals like a bear and a black panther as friends. Unfortunately, the orphan boy must leave the only home he’s ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan decides that humans aren’t welcome in the jungle and unleashes his mighty roar. By the guidance of the black panther and a free thinking bear, the boy experiences an epic life journey whereby he meets an array of jungle animals, including a slithering python and a smooth-talking ape. During his adventurous journey, he learns valuable life lessons.
The voice cast of The Jungle Book is absolutely amazing. Some movies choose movie stars as voice actors just to get more attention but in this movie it seems they really selected the actors according to the movie’s characters, which brings the animals in the movie even more to life. Neel Sethi voices the boy Mowgli, assisted by the black panther (Ben Kingsley) and the bear (Bill Murray). This threesome is a perfect example of a good friendship.
The bad guys are voiced by Idris Elba as the fearful tiger, Scarlett Johansson as the dangerous and alluring python and last but not least Christopher Walken as the smooth-talking ape.
